What is the Dominant color???
I think purple is the dominant color because they can rush, draw, and have the ability to control the board.

Re: What is the Dominant color???
It really is hard to say. Purple is a good color, but it is far from the best.
Ones that can beat it and how
red-killing their board
white-being immune to their effects
green-gaining the cores to avoid their board wiping effects
blue-mill them out
yellow-Not sure yet

Dominant color?????
Good point but there are ways to get around each of those obstacles. For example each color can manuver each others strengths. But purple does this the best that is why in my opinion I believe that purple is the best color.

I am fine with you saying it's the best color, but I just like showing answers around what each color can do against another color.

Re: What is the Dominant color???
I wonder with the new restricted list if purple will still remain the dominant color?
Do you think that purple's strength lies with it's ability to draw cards? or is it cards like
mind control, dampeel, and desperado that makes purple so formidable?
Do you think that the restricted list will help balance some of the color dominance we
have been seeing over the last six months?

Domiant color???
The restricted list balanced the colors pretty good and made the game a bit different. But the restrictions have taken a toll on green the most.

Re: What is the Dominant color???
Actually purple got hit with it the most due to mind control and dampeel are 2 of the best and most frequently destructive cards in every purple deck.
Thorn prison and flock recovery is understandable for green. Storm draw I don't count due to it is the biggest splashed draw card, so it makes sense

You know what beats purple consistently? Armored beast white ^^ Sure purple can waste my field but I have recycling and can keep purple with no reduction with my constant free bouncing. When our group built the meta purple deck to test our decks against this deck was the only one that could win matches.

Creature return is a nice thing to have, but that also can happen with purple in a zombie deck. In exchange for things like that, if you are up against a red deck, good chance you might end up screwed due to problems you can end up with, especially if they kill your return

If you bounce purple's guys then they can just replay them and either play them for free or get a draw effect off of them, and wouldn't your white deck run out of cards in hand if you constantly bounce my guys.

The issues between purple and white I know are so far these.
White can bounce purple answers
Immunity purple has been appearing a lot more
core return during the opponents turn for other methods helps them a lot
bouncing/denying life damage is pretty reliable for them
multiple attacking/blocking is heavily useful for them against purple
there are answers to purple in white, same as purple does to white

Re: What is the Dominant color???
The white nexus that bounces a spirit everytime i bring into play an armored beast or giant beast. There are 2 white spirits with no cost after reduction that meet those requirements. You bring it into play. Block with it ( one of those two gets a core when it blocks). Then bring it back to your hand with the first effect of the nexus. Purple will usually run out of resources before you do if they dont have nexus destruction. The Untouchable wrote:If you bounce purple's guys then they can just replay them and either play them for free or get a draw effect off of them, and wouldn't your white deck run out of cards in hand if you constantly bounce my guys.

Good luck haveing all the cores and cards for the combo. Also purple runs lots of nexus kill in either sideboard or main board because of the Cape in the Red Sky.

Here's is the thing, white has a nexus that tends to be in their own sideboard to avoid their nexuses from being destroyed by red effects, so if a player has put in red cards for their sideboard, then they can change in those nexuses to protect those ones

They need the Armored Beast characteristic for that nexus and he said he only ran six armored beast and if your only bouncing one guy back to my hand every turn I thing I could deal with that because I think I would have already killed you before it mattered.

If you sideboard cards you are not guranteed to draw the cards you sideboard. Even if we both sideboarded cards I would be more likely to get the cards because I draw more cards.

Re: What is the Dominant color???
Not trying to start a war just defending my opinion ^^ As I said, the only cores your paying for is the cost of the nexus. Once it's out the spirits I mentioned are free with reduction. I of course run more than the 6 armored beasts, I built it as a random theme deck for Armored Beasts and Giant beasts. After play-testing it handled quite well. There's the white spell that refreshes 3 of my Armored/Giant Beasts enabling them a second round of attacks/blocks as well. Just my opinion, I've only played in my local Core Championships so I dont know what the National play style is like. The Untouchable wrote:Good luck haveing all the cores and cards for the combo. Re: What is the Dominant color???
Hmm I still believe that purple is the top dog.. But the restricted list hurts it just a bit. I don't know why cloak and dragsaus are on the list though. Cloak is a 1 for 1.. Restricting it is like restricting mist curtain or worse a card that has better advantage victory flame. Seems like red was hit the least on purpose.

I think red is doing pretty descent now that they have restricted the cards but I agree that purple is on top right now.

Obviously purple is the better color. Most of the deck is a plus 1. Which is amazing. lol.

Well who is actually trying out the limited/restricted list? after trying the new changes, it shows more that red is more the dominant one as well as white

I think now that the limited list is out, it makes slower decks better since there not so vulnerable to rush.

It's the fact it stops rush and also screws over a good bunch of control. I am surprised about it and might see if my players want to try it out perhaps the weekend after my core championship
